CURRENT SITUATION

ENT practices are facing increasing economic pressure.

The abolition of certain reimbursements outside the budget, such as the new patient regulation under the TSVG, is putting many practices under pressure. However, these cuts do not affect this care model: Our care pathway is regulated through special agreements with statutory health insurance providers and continues to be reimbursed outside the budget. Your remuneration is therefore based on these individual agreements. We continuously monitor the contractual situation and immediately inform our partner practices if individual health insurance agreements expire or need to be renegotiated.

Budget Pressure

Since the reimbursement outside the budget for new patients was abolished (from 2023) and due to increasing cost pressure in the statutory health insurance system, the financial scope has become more limited.

Staff Resources

Audiometry and technical services require time and qualified staff but, according to medical professional associations, are not reimbursed adequately.

Growing Demand for Care

The number of patients with hearing loss is increasing, along with the need for structured, local hearing aid care.

The exact remuneration situation depends on the regional Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians, the contract, and the individual case. Statements regarding professional associations reflect the views of the respective associations.

THE MODEL

Integrate hearing aid care into your practice with a structured approach.

Many patients with hearing loss begin their journey at an ENT practice. In collaboration with your ENT practice, Mr. Hear turns this into a clearly defined care process: The ENT practice remains the medical point of contact, while Mr. Hear takes care of digital hearing aid care and hearing care support. This process does not require any additional practice staff.

ECONOMIC BENEFITS

Reimbursement Outside the Budget: Economically Relevant, Presented Responsibly.

For the participation of the ENT practice in this care model, many statutory health insurance providers currently provide remuneration of approximately €250.00 for bilateral care. This remuneration applies to the medical services provided (diagnosis, prescription, and follow-up examination) and not to the referral of patients. The exact amounts vary depending on the contract, federal state, and statutory health insurance provider and may change with future contract amendments.

Additional Care Pillar

A clearly defined additional pillar alongside traditional ENT services.

Structured Process

Clear, transparent processes instead of organizational friction.

Contractual Framework

Within the framework of Section 128 (4) SGB V – depending on the contract and statutory health insurance provider.
